Amazon Spring Try-On Haul!

Amazon has been my favorite place to shop for clothes recently! The prices are great, and with Prime I can get my items in 2 days with free shipping and returns! I’ve been sharing a ton of cute Amazon pieces in my daily faves on my Instagram and the most common questions I get are about fit and sizing since Amazon can be hit and miss as it is such a huge online store filled with so many different brands and pieces. I figured I’d go on the hunt and find some great Spring items that I could put to the test for you all and share how they look, fit, feel, and all of the other details you might be interested in knowing before you place your order on Amazon. I also have a page for my Amazon finds here on the blog! It is a permanent page that I constantly add pieces too, items I own and items I have my eye on! For reference I am 5’9” tall and am a true size Medium!

THIS DRESS: runs TTS, has an added slip in the skirt portion and elastic around the waist which adds extra comfort! The tie is removable, could be a cute hair or bag accessory. Comes in a handful of other cute colors, so fun for Easter or brunch with the girls! I’m wearing a size Medium.

MY BAG: Perfectly inspired by the Cult Gaia brand bamboo bag! I love this cute thing so much! It is super structured and doesn’t fit a ton, but it’s great for lunch with the girls or a fun Spring or Summer event! I always get so many compliments on it when I bring it out, such a statement piece!

THESE SHOES: great dupes for the Steve Madden “Greece” sandal, such an amazing price point, I wore these babies OUT last summer and it’s time to stock up on more colors for this year. I’m thinking I’ll purchase the white ones next! Obsessed!

THE HAT: This hat is adorable and just gives me all the country, garden-y vibes. It is super wide-brimmed and is such a fun statement at an amazing price point!

THAT BRACELET: looks just like David Yurman, but affordable! I love this bracelet and I plan to buy other styles from the same seller to create a fun arm party!

THIS DRESS: my new favorite dress! I’ve already worn it more than a handful of times since I got it in. It runs TTS if not a tiny bit big. I only sized up for the extra length because I’m 5’9! I’m wearing a Large here but if I was shorter I totally could have work a Medium or even a Small. There is a ton of extra material in the middle section, The ruffles are so fun, and you know I love me some polka dots!

THAT HAT: kinda like Rag & Bone but sooo much better because you don’t have to drop your entire paycheck for this one! I love this hat for year-round! Comes in a ton of colors too.

MY BAG: I love a good, round bag for summer! This one is so fun and looks designer. I’ve had it since last summer, it came in with an interesting smoky smell that wore off over time. I Love this bag for Spring!

THESE SHORTS: YOU GUYS. I am in love! They have a stretchy, elastic paper bag waist with an attached tie. Run a little bit small but they are so dang cute and comfy! I sized up to a Large and they fit perfectly.

THIS SWEATER: My sweater runs really large, I would size down unless you like your sweaters really oversized and slouchy (I love it oversized, I kept my true size here).

THOSE EARRINGS: These earrings are so fun! They make me want to go on a tropical vacation… giving me total Baublebar vibes but for a fraction of the cost. Love!

MY HAT: My new favorite hat! I promise you this will be my go-to this Spring and Summer! I already can’t get enough of it. Reminds me of Eric Javits, but much more affordable. It goes with every outfit, casual or dressy!

THIS SKIRT: I am BLOWN. AWAY. by the quality of this skirt! Absolute perfection and super affordable, I 100% thought this skirt would be a return but I took a chance on it and I’m so glad I did! I got my true size, there are other patterned options to choose from. Definitely going back for one of the floral ones too! Such a perfect piece for spring and summer!

THE BAG: I’ve had this bag since last summer and it is not only my most reached for bag in the Spring and Summer, but most affordable bag I own! I want to buy one for everyone I know. It goes with everything, so versatile and cute!

MY JUMPSUIT: I honestly CAN’T EVEN with how comfortable this jumpsuit is! The material is stretchy, which was such an unexpected but good surprise! I feel like this piece looks so much more expensive than it is. The sizing is a little strange for me… I have a long torso so even though I sized up it is still a little short on me, but not to the point that I can’t wear it. I probably could have even sized up one more! Keep this in mind if you’re tall like me. If you’re shorter or more petite sizing is probably more true for you!

THESE BARRETTES: An Absolute must have for Spring! These little accessories have come back from the 90’s with a vengeance and I couldn’t be more excited! I love that they are super versatile and classic, yet make such a statement for a small accessory!

THIS HANDBAG: Another amazing find! This bag looks just like it’s designer counterpart that is super expensive. I found this beauty by accident and am so excited to share it with you all! The insert and handles are an embossed croc pattern, and the insert is removable! I love a piece that can be worn different ways and I know I’ll be reaching for this bag all season long!

Easter Dresses For Every Price Point

We’re one week into April and Easter is fast approaching! I realized this morning that I still have yet to pick up an outfit for Easter Sunday, every year we go to brunch at Edgefield in Troutdale, Oregon and I like to wear something special since we take tons of pictures, and it’s fun to have a reason to dress up! The Perfect Lace Kimono Outfit

Today Dustin and I got to enjoy a few blissful kid-free hours to run all over town doing boring grown-up stuff like going to the post office, picking up toilet paper from Costco and finally getting some returns done that had been sitting in the car for a week. It felt nice to be able to speed through our errands, but I sure missed my little Stella bean! It’s funny how even a few hours apart can be so hard, but when you spend 24/7 with your little munchkin it’s hard to be away even for a little while!

I wore this SUPER cute lace kimono c/o Chic Wish, it is such a versatile piece and I can’t wait for it to warm up so I can use it as a swim cover-up or paired with some denim shorts! Our Blogger Trip! Pink Drink Recipe and Outfit Details!

We went on a girls trip this weekend and had SO much fun! I’ll be doing a full blog post about the beautiful resort we visited with lots of fun pictures but for now I wanted to get this post up to answer some of the questions I got on Instagram during our trip. I saved a highlight on my Instagram page if you missed out on the stories I posted over the weekend, head over and watch those after you read this post! I have never gotten more DM’s about a drink than I did this weekend after posting my neon pink Starbucks drink, and I decided since there was so much excitement about it that it certainly had earned itself space in a blog post. Y’all were just as excited about our blue car too, so I figured I’d share more about our weekend ride, and of course I have to share my outfit, enjoy!

My Pink Lily Outfit

We’ll start with my outfit because you guys have already been buying this sweatshirt like crazy and I am not surprised. I had to order it as soon as I saw it, and it does not disappoint in terms of quality and price point! Sweatshirt and jeans are both from Pink Lily Boutique and I basically could have slept in the outfit it was so comfortable! I have never had an issue with anything I’ve ordered from Pink Lily and these pieces were no exception, every year I like to stock up during the spring and summer because they get such cute pieces for the warmer seasons! Sweatshirt is TTS, and jeans I would size down since they’re so stretchy they definitely stretched out a little as the day went on.

The Blue Car

Let’s start with the #bigbluebeast. Yes we gave it a hashtag. A lot of people were asking if I got a new car, sorry no. I wish I could afford this thing, it was such a dream to drive! I was super fortunate to be able to test drive this beautiful SUV for the weekend, courtesy of Toyota! I nearly peed my pants when it arrived to my house on Friday, this baby was BRIGHT, but the color eventually grew on me and I actually ended up loving it. We definitely caught people’s attention everywhere we drove, and got more than a handful of compliments which was pretty fun! It was plenty of room for us to and our one million bags of luggage, photography equipment, snacks, etc. I loved driving it so much, I might actually trade my jeep in for one when my lease is up!

I picked up Gia and Linnea on Saturday and I felt like the coolest carpool mom, it was the running joke of the trip. I know, I’m hilarious. These beach pics we’re so unplanned, but some of my favorites from the whole trip! We drove down a random road trying to find a place to park and walk down to the beach and just happened to drive straight down a beach access road where we could drive right onto the sand! I told them both beforehand that I would NOT be driving on the beach in a car I didn’t actually own, but when it came down to it in the moment, YOLO. And I don’t regret it one bit (and we actually drove back down to the beach again at sunset that evening)!

The Pink Drink

Ok, the famous pink drink of the weekend. This isn’t your standard pink drink that you see every blogger post with. This is like it’s neon, crazy, step sister and I’m obsessed! Not only is it cute, it is a non-coffee drink that still has caffeine and tastes amazing! Kind of tart, but still sweet and super refreshing on a warm day.

Save vs. Splurge Spring Bags and Shoes

There are so many fun Spring shoes and bags out already, many of which I already own from previous seasons! As I’ve been shopping these past couple weeks, I’ve realized that a lot of my key Spring pieces that I’ve purchased are also available at other retailers, some priced much lower, and some priced higher. I figured it would be helpful to make a guide of the items I own (some I own the “save” version and some I own the “splurge”). I have to say that most of the affordable options are equal if not BETTER quality than their pricier twins so if you’ve had your on one of these fun pieces but didn’t want to splurge, you can feel better about saving a few bucks on the affordable option and still get to enjoy all of these Spring trends!

A Spring Haul and Try-On With Nordstrom!

I went to Nordstrom recently and stocked up on some cute goodies for Spring the other day, I was in desperate need of tops and I also was looking to add some color and variety into my very neutral, very basics-heavy wardrobe. There were so many fun pieces to choose from in their trend shop and I’m so excited to share how they look, fit, and their prices with you! Can you tell I’m loving a good wrap blouse these days? I can’t resist, they’re just so comfortable and flattering!

Bag $42

This bag was the first item I picked up. If you know me well, you know I love a fun statement piece and what better way to make a statement than with your handbag? This one is vegan leather, under $50 and has a cross-body strap so you can wear it hands free! The canvas insert is removable if you want to change up the look of the bag (might lose a lipgloss or two through those holes though lol).

Top $49

Every time I see a good leopard print piece I have to give it a chance! This top has so many elements that I LOVE. It has a draped or wrap-front, with a collar and buttons. Yes to ALL OF THIS! Plus the print is good, sometimes leopard print can look tacky or overdone and I could totally see this worn in an office setting with trousers like these or even a pencil skirt. so cute! I normally would have gotten a large in a top like this but medium was all that was available in my store, although the sleeves are a touch short on me it still fits well everywhere else, so if you aren’t super broad shouldered (like I am), I’d stick with your regular size. The material is polyester and a tiny bit of spandex but it really doesn’t have much stretch at all.

Top $29

This top was tricky to photograph but it is my favorite piece that I picked up! It comes in four colors and is affordable, comfortable, versatile and best of all, cute! It is longer in the back than most other tops of it’s style so you can feel secure wearing it with leggings. I tied mine tighter than they had it in the store, but you can loosen up the knot for a more slouchy feel. If you’re between sizes definitely size down, I got a medium which is my true size and it fits well when I tighten the knot, but I could have gotten away with a small if necessary. It is the softest material too… it is part polyester but the magic ingredient is the viscose that gives the fabric a soft and stretchy feel!

Top $49

Another wrap top! This one is so different to me, but I was drawn to the color and although I don’t have a ton of polka dot pieces I’m obsessed with them! This top is SO flattering with the tie being right at the small part of your waist. It is cropped so unless you like to show some skin, high waisted jeans like these pictured are necessary. You can see that the sleeves are a tiny bit short on me, and I’m sure it’s because I am so broad shouldered and long-armed. I sized up to a large for arm length and torso length but it is a tiny bit baggy through the middle (I just tied it tighter, and it looks just fine). I’d say shoot for your true size unless you are super long like I am! The fabric is rayon and has zero stretch, but it is flowy enough that there is plenty room to move!

I am still waiting on my red tank top and my tan sandals to arrive in the mail but I will certainly update this post when they come in!

Casual Brunch Outfit + Meet My Blogger Besties!

The weekend routine lately has included coffee or brunch with my friends and this weekend was no exception! I wanted to be comfortable since I knew we’d be walking a round a lot so I opted for these super stretchy and soft ripped jeans I just got in from Pink Lily (my favorite online boutique)! I actually ordered them for a trip we have planned for the second weekend in March, you’ll have to wait to see where we’re headed but it’s going to be so much fun! This sweater I’ve had since fall and it’s perfect for transitioning into the warmer months, I’ll probably pair it with shorts as soon as it’s warm enough outside, so cute! My Favorite Ripped Jeans - Affordable Spring Essentials!

Although our weather has been completely wacko in Portland with alternating snow days mixed with days of sun and blue skies, I’ve decided to style more Spring looks for you all since I am impatient and ready for the season to change over already! This look in particular is versatile because it can be layered with a light jacket for chillier days like I did here. These shoes are also pretty covering and not completely full out warm weather footwear. Speaking of these shoes, I’ve had them for going on three years now and each year they sell out at the start of the year so if you’ve had your eye on them I wouldn’t wait! I also ordered these more affordable shoes this year that are very similar and just as comfortable, for those of you that aren’t ready to splurge.

This top is under $20 and the softest button up I own! I am always a sucker for stripes and for the price I couldn’t pass this one up. Also you’ve heard me rave about these jeans so much, a lot of you have picked them up for yourself as well! They are super affordable, perfectly high waisted and super stretchy. The color/style I’m wearing is called “Make it or Break it” I want them in every wash!

The Best Casual LBD + Snake Print Shoes

I shared a sweet coffee date with my little one at the cutest cafe, Figlia Americana, in downtown Portland this past weekend. We shared avocado toast and enjoyed each other’s company while soaking in the calm and very Instagram-able atmosphere. Stella ordered a “coffee” for herself (8 oz milk in a tiny coffee cup lol) and I sipped on a latte, she made friends with all of the people working on their laptops and said please and thank you to the baristas as she asked for milk refills. I can’t believe she’ll be 2 in July.

I wore this mid-calf length tank dress that I bought for summer, but couldn’t wait to wear it and now after giving a test drive, I’m ordering it in two more colors. It is SO comfortable and I see it being extremely versatile for year-round wear… not to mention it’s under 20 bucks! I also debuted my new favorite shoes. It took me some time to find the best snake print booties but I am so glad I didn’t settle, these booties are so comfy and just dressy enough to snaz up my (usually) casual ensembles.

4 Easy, Casual Outfits!

As we’ve been busy house hunting over the past month, I’ve found myself gravitating toward easy, “throw on and go” styles where I don’t have to do much and will be comfortable as we run around looking at houses. Let me tell ya, we’ve looked at A LOT of houses. I don’t want to sit in the car in jeans all day long! I also decided to feature my two most worn, favorite casual shoes! When In Doubt Add Leopard!

A couple things about this outfit. Throw on a “third piece” (coat, vest, scarf) and it instantly elevates a look and adds something extra! Same goes for accessories so if you don’t want to wear a hat, a cute bag will have the same affect. These leggings are the famous Zella leggings but are their MUCH more affordable twin sister, same brand and everything, just cheaper!

Just Put a Coat On It

I basically wore my pajamas out of the house this day. No joke though, this coat makes it okay! I even ran to Nordstrom wearing this and it was a-ok! This coat has been a wardrobe staple for me each winter for a few years now. It always comes back in stock and has an affordable little sister by the same brand that I tagged if you don’t feel like splurging quite yet!

Leather Moto Jacket, Need I Say More?

This is a look that I wore at least three times a week when I worked at Nordstrom. I definitely wore skinny jeans or black pants though as per dress code requirements but my co-workers knew me to wear a leather moto jacket whenever I was feeling uninspired! It truly changes the feel of an outfit and can be dressed up or down effortlessly. I love this one because it is faux leather, the hardware is a brassy/gold color and it has a detachable hood. Plus it’s under $100!

The Only Leggings You’ll Ever Need

I’ve talked about these leggings a ton on Instagram, I have a few pairs including this moto style which is so fun! I love a little added detail to an otherwise boring piece of clothing such as leggings. Not only are they cute, these babies will SUCK. YOU. IN. I lose 10 lbs just by putting them on. 100% worth the splurge, and sorry I haven’t found anything affordable that even comes close so save up that extra change for a few months and add these to your cart. You won’t regret it!

Did I even talk about the outfit? NOPE. Not much to say besides, add a denim jacket to your tee and leggings look and you have my fourth super simple, comfy option!

Cozy Fall Fashion Favorites

Trending Now - Leopard Print!

Happy Wednesday! You guys better be ready for a busy, fun filled few days. I’m already tired thinking about my packed schedule, but I’m also excited for the events planned! Keep up with me via Instagram stories if you want to follow along with the craziness!

We had so much fun at the pumpkin patch this past weekend I couldn’t wait to share these photos with you all! I didn’t want to overload my Instagram with pumpkins so I figured I’d share them on here in case anyone wanted to see the ones’s that didn’t make the cut on my feed. Believe it or not the group picture was taken with a camera propped up on a pile of pumpkins in a wheelbarrow and it took a better picture than the two strangers we asked to help us prior! It’s not easy using a DSLR if you don’t know how, so I don’t blame them. Thank goodness we had a wheelbarrow photographer to fall back on!

I got this super cute, SUPER affordable leopard print cardigan to wear to the pumpkin patch and it really spurred my need for more leopard print items. I’ve been doing a lot of shopping lately (as usual) and it’s no secret that leopard print is trending this fall so I have found tons of cute pieces I wanted to share with you guys many of which are in my cart, I’m just trying to narrow it down so I don’t have a wardrobe full of leopard haha!    I try to only purchase an Item that is displayed on a person, not just a hanger. If I order an item displayed on a hanger, chances are I’ve seen the piece on another blogger or friend! You can check their Instagram pages @sheinofficial and @shein_us and view tagged pictures to view items on customers and bloggers. Their hashtag is #sheingals or #sheinus which should also bring up plenty of pictures featuring Shein items.

2. Check Instagram

Head to Shein’s Instagram page and check out the tagged photos! Also check out their hashtags (#sheingals #shein). I love to see how an item will look on a real person and not just in the styled stock photo on a retailer’s website, Instagram is a great resource for that. Also be sure to check out hauls and try-on’s from your favorite bloggers, I have a bunch saved in my “Shein” highlight on my Instagram profile page. I have found some of the best pieces by ordering items I’ve seen other people share in their Instagram stories!

3. Read Item Reviews

1. This goes hand in hand with with the first tip! Read the reviews and look for the reviews with customer photos. This helps especially well with “One- Size” items. I tend to only order items that have amazing reviews with pictures attached.

   4. Pay Attention to Sizing

   Sizes are all over the place for each item on Shein. Grab a tape measure whenever in doubt and physically measure your body and compare to the detailed info they provide on their site. I tend to size up when I’m feeling unsure, but always measure if you’re on the fence! I’ve ordered items in my normal size that could fit a chihuahua so I always measure twice and reference their sizing before placing my order.

   5. Plan to Wait For Your Order

   Shipping can sometimes take a whilt, so expect to wait! Since items are coming from over seas, items can take anywhere from one week to three weeks to arrive, so don’t place an order with items you need ASAP, just in case it takes on the longer end of the spectrum to arrive. If I am ordering for an event or a shoot I will always order a month in advance to make sure that 1) the item arrives on time, and 2) I also have time to find a replacement in case the item is not what I expected. You can always expedite shipping if it’s super important as well! I have also gotten lucky and ordered items that have taken less than a week to arrive, it all really just depends by item.

   6. Returns are Not Necessarily Worth it

   There have only been two items total that I’ve received from Shein that have not worked out for me. I decided it would be easier to donate the items than deal with returns since I’ve heard returns can be a huge hassle and shipping costs tend to be more than the items price anyway, I have never actually experience it myself though. I have heard you can pay a few bucks for insurance that makes returns more affordable which is always an option as well! Returns are accepted 30 days from purchase, some items are non-returnable though so double check the fine print before ordering!

   7. Be Prepared for a Wrinkles

   This is where I give you the number one advice that you will ever get for online shopping from ANY retailer, not just Shein. INVEST IN A STEAMER. Items ordered online tend to come in a crumpled mess. Remove the wrinkles before you wear your online items out and about. I promise them they’ll look ten times better and higher quality than if you rock the wrinkles. This is the portable steamer I use. It’s super affordable and works like a charm, also fits well in a suitcase if you travel frequently!

Overall I have had pretty great success with my purchases from Shein! Items are affordable and on trend, great for the fashionista who likes to change things up seasonally without breaking the bank. Transitioning Your Style From Summer to Fall

The weather is changing and it’s time to pull out the sweaters and booties! I wanted to share this cute summer to fall transitional outfit with you all from American Eagle, I’ve found myself shopping at AE a lot this season since their prices are so affordable and I never realized how much cute stuff I was missing out on! I Saw this sweater and knew it was perfect for me since it’s a little cropped but I love wearing high waisted denim so it is perfect front tucked into these distressed skinny jeans. Both run true to size, the jeans are SUPER stretchy and very forgiving. I paired the look with these under $100 booties that I’ve been wearing for FOREVER and I have in multiple colors. They are so so SO comfy and versatile, everyone needs them!

Anyways, I hope you all are enjoying these last couple weeks of summer! This is one of my favorite times of the year because I can still wear shorts but pair them with my chunky knits and it’s totally appropriate and comfortable! That being said, I am so excited for cooler temps because fall fashion is my FAVORITE fashion and I can’t wait to share a ton of cute fall looks with you all!

Weekly Instagram Recap [September 8-15]

This week was an interesting one for me. I was on the tail-end of a creative rut and not feeling the greatest about myself or my work. I’ve written about this in my last week’s Instagram Recap make sure you check that out as well! This week I finally created my own Lightroom (the editing tool I use for my photos) preset to use on all of my photos. Basically this will make each photo fit more cohesively into my Instagram feed and generally make my page look more put together as a whole. Let me know if you’ve noticed my Instagram feed looking better and more cohesive since I made the change this past week! I want to hear your thoughts, what do you think about this new filter?!

Athliesure Errands

This sweatshirt was the best purchase I’ve made this month! It runs TTS,is exrtra,super cozy and comes in a bunch of colors, I want the black/grey one too. Weekly Instagram Recap [September 1-8]

Time to get a little real in this post. This week has been rough for me, mentally, physically, in most ways it's been a struggle. It is not easy for me to admit defeat or give excuses for not getting things done, but between the (essentially) zero sleep and the mental angst of dealing with a toddler during a sleep regression... phew. It was rough to say the VERY least. For this reason I was a little more absent than usual on the 'gram. I had to cancel my weekly photoshoot as my child was off her schedule which means I was off my schedule.  I was running low on content for the blog and Instagram. My daily outfits were less than exquisite if you can imagine (picture this: pajamas, no makeup, messy/greasy mom bun, not cute). Anyway, I am pulling myself back up from the depths of feeling like a failure of a parent and struggling with self-esteem issues due to the fact that I can barely take care of myself this week let alone my family. I'm dealing with it and constantly reminding myself that it is just a phase and things will get better. I've been leaning on Dustin to help me a little more than usual and together we are keeping up with the craziness as Stella is starting to sleep better and tantrum less. 

Honestly, I'm trying to get this post up as quickly as possible so if it seems sloppy or there are grammatical errors, I apologize! The to-do list is a mile long and I'm still catching up!

SOOOO, that being said there was not a ton of Instagram looks from this past week. I'll include them here anyway as I always do. I did manage to get a highly requested blog post up though! Click HERE if you missed it.

This tee is so soft and a little bit longer which is perfect for us taller gals. I feel like I wear these jeans all the time so no explanation necessary for them haha just get 'em if you haven't yet! I went on the HUNT for a great lace trim satin cami and this one is my all time favorite! Even better than the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale one. This is one of my favorite looks from this week!

I pretty much haven't taken these leggings off since buying them! I also got the moto ones from the same brand and I already see myself wearing them all fall/winter.
