Photo Diary and Review of Salishan Resort
Last weekend my friends Gia, Linnea and I road tripped to the coast to stay at Salishan Resort for Gia’s birthday! The stay was complimentary in exchange for review, all opinions are my own.
First off, let me just tell you my only regret and the least pleasant part of the trip was having to leave Salishan and head home after such a brief one night trip. All three of us agreed that next time we go, we need at the VERY least two nights so we can enjoy all of the amenities that Salishan has to offer! This place is an absolute DREAM. Tucked away in the beach town of Gleneden, this hidden gem is a must-see if you are visiting the Oregon coast. I’ve frequented the Oregon coast my entire life as it is such a quick drive from Portland, but I’m always going to Cannon or Seaside and it was a refreshing change to visit and explore a new coastal town!
First impressions, Salishan is beautiful. I’m not saying this lightly either, the expansive golf course surrounding the resort is stunning and the whole place is nestled back into the woods creating a peaceful and serene retreat, where you can escape the rest of the world and unplug. The first thing I did when I got to our room was sit on the deck and kick my feet up to enjoy the incredible view from our room!
There is no lack of activities, from complimentary bikes, golf, morning yoga, an amazing pool, even a “yappy hour” for your furry friend with bacon infused water, a dogs dream! If we hadn’t enjoyed an extended dinner and drinks I would have love to experience the “dive-in” movie which they host in the pool each Saturday evening!

The first thing we did after checking in was head upstairs to grab lunch, we we’re so hungry after our drive and needed some delicious seafood to tide us over until Gia’s birthday dinner that evening. I had the Fish Tacos and almost ordered a second serving they were so good! There’s nothing like eating fresh seafood when you’re at the coast and when it’s prepared well, there’s nothing better. Their clam chowder was also to DIE for delish! The bar tender was so accommodating and sweet, she totally came through with these cute pink lemonades after I requested a no-alcohol, delicious, and fun looking drink!
Saturday was an amazing day and the sunset was picturesque, such a beautiful end to our first day at the resort! We headed upstairs for food and drink to the Attic restaurant for Gia’s birthday dinner. Our server was great and very knowledgeable! She had spot on drink and food recommendations like the drink I ordered that had chocolate liqueur and arrived on fire, so fun! I devoured the scallops and risotto, crab mac and cheese was enjoyed by us all and of course we had to order more clam chowder since it was all we could think about since lunchtime!
Sunday we slept in so we missed yoga, but it was also daylight savings and we lost an hour that night so we needed a little extra shuteye, especially after celebrating Gia’s birthday the night before. The room was also so quiet and dark, I slept better than I’ve slept in a long while! We decided to spend the rest of our day at the spa so we had enough time to enjoy their most amazing amenity!
The spa was breathtaking! The staff was expecting us and after a quick tour we changed into robes and got to enjoy the peace and quiet of their two pools, steam room, and a fantastic view out of the floor to ceiling windows. We were offered champagne as we sat by a huge indoor fire in their “Hearth Room” after we soaked in the pool overlooking the ocean and got some quality time relaxing and enjoying each other’s company. If we had more time we could have taken advantage of their long list of spa services including hair and nail services, massages, facials, etc.
Next time I go to Salishan, I plan to extend my stay as long as possible! There are so many fun and relaxing things to do and no shortage of excitement for the whole family! I am already planning to bring my family back to share the experience, no one needs a spa retreat more than my hard working husband.
